Well, well… in my sinister Maleficent voice… look who has finally decided to get started…. ME! I’ve been longing to write a blog for years and made every excuse in the book not to complete the task. For years, I’ve enthusiastically helped others find their dream jobs as I worked tirelessly as a Recruiter, HR Associate, Job Coach, and currently a Workforce Development Instructor for a junior college. While working as an educator, I patiently assisted so many well-deserving students gain their peers’ trust, admiration, and friendship – while aiding them with their academic success. At some point, you stop and ask yourself- what about me!? What do I want and what makes me truly happy and what is my dream?
With everything that 2020 has wreaked upon us all- I figured that the picture hanging on my wall with the words Carpe Diem was yelling at me-SEIZE THE DAY! I thought 2019 was “hellified” with a health scare and more drama than an episode of Dallas and Falcon Crest combined, but this year has come in like the Wrath of Khan! So, I figured what’s the worse that could happen writing this blog? If nothing else, it can serve as a form of entertainment for others and an outlet for me. Luckily, God has gifted me with one hell of a sense of humor, a gift for gab, an open mind, and an open heart. My intent for this “blog” is to share some of my “noticements” (we’ll get into that later) and life lessons with others on topics ranging from love & relationships, to parenting, mental health, spirituality, pop culture, what your mama should have told you and so much more! People who know me well have realized that I have some of the craziest and most peculiar things happen to me and thus the most interesting stories to tell. My life is definitely not short on excitement or what some may say- tomfoolery!
All that being said, I live my life to the fullest and have been known to be considered as the life of the party! But, like an onion- I have so many layers to who I am and the complexity of my personality is often hidden behind a cordial smile. I invite you to take this journey with me and I encourage your candid feedback! Who knows… I might be writing a book one day to share all my secrets about love, life, pain, and everything in between!
Yours truly,
Janay
